For Granted.

There are a lot of everyday things that I have a hard time remembering to be thankful for. Health, for example, needs to be remembered. It can so easily be altered or someone can get hurt. I only remember how thankful I should be once I’m sick, wishing to return to normal. The feeling of returning to normal health is one of the best feelings, in my book at least. So today, as I’m finally not as dizzy and running into walls (vertigo/sinuses), I am thankful. Also, I’m thankful for the days when my friends and family are healthy. I’m also thankful for the medicine that is out there to help those I love.

Today and everyday, I am thankful for my family and friends. The friends that have turned into family, and the families that have made me more than just a friend. I love them and I don’t know what I would do without them.

The holidays are more than presents. It’s about remembering what you have, spending as much time as you can with those loved ones, and giving back.

Or lack there of..

It’s so close to break, so close that it’s all I can think about.

I am R E A D Y!

Not too mention, it’s cold. Cold and gray. That makes me sleepy. It also makes me just want to get a white peppermint mocha, turn on my christmas lights, and watch 25 days of christmas.

I may or may not have been doing this instead of studying…

Thursday, already?

Falling on slippery floors due to the rain. Not once. Not twice. Three times. Plus my raincoat is magenta… hard to not take notice.

Reading aloud. I thought I was good at it, until I stumbled all over my words multiple times.

How I do not wake up to my alarm. I have to set 6 alarms. I tend to wake up two hours after I wanted to …

Pushing papers off until the night before they are do. I don’t know how to relate Marx and Weber AND RELIGION. No sleep?

When people always ask me, “What are you wearing?” … but not as a compliment… so what? sometimes I wear oversize Dad sweaters, leggings, shorts, and rain boots..

The fact that my family is visiting this week and one of the bests is coming the weekend after. (:

Having an alcohol program that includes “wine” (sparkling grape juice), cheese, and dressing fancy.

Having a reason to buy a new dress.

Rearranging & cleaning my room so I can concentrate. *Note the heels above which are placed on my window sill.

My desk that my fabulous father made. It is painted white with a pickle finish so you can still see the wood grain. Love it, because it makes me feel like I don’t live in a dorm… sort of..

The fact that I’m making an HP bulletin board. Love my job.

Sometimes things fall through. Plans change. Life happens. Confusion and disappointment.

Sometimes you’re left in pieces and the only thing you can do is watch your step and carefully clean up the mess.

Then you breathe. You find that pattern, it becomes easier. Just focus on that pattern. Keep going, keep running.

It’s like a rainy day, cold and dreary.

Look through the window. See past the drizzle, there’s beauty out there.

Sometimes all you need

is a little rest. Apparently, getting your wisdom teeth out requires sleeping 18 out of the 24 hours in a day…

So until I’m back on my game, here’s some posts around the web.

(my feet on the art wall)

Love this post on how to talk to little girls, will you take up the challenge?

What to do with that blank wall

August, anyone? To me it’s birthdays & back to school. Not everyone likes it as much as I do, though

Sunday, sleep

Or lack of sleep that is.

I love A Cup of Jo’s end of the week posts about what’s on the web. Here’s what I liked this week, while procrastinating.

This link is about what people really want to hear when they’re sick.

Lovely vase idea : I found that I’m in a much better mood when I have flowers in the house.

Story of My Life started a new shop, check it out here!

Also check out The Violet’s new issue. Love, love, love it.

Let’s go ladies!

Here’s to the women’s US soccer team playing in the #WorldCup! I hope they win today against Brazil. They’re a tough team, and most of the time the women teams don’t get the respect they deserve. So let’s go USA!

Hung out with my little sister and her friends tonight. It makes me miss those care free days of high school. I have to say it was good fun baking brownies, singing, facebook creeping, and watching not-so-scary scary movies.

Also, if you get two or more people to write “Happy birthday” on someone’s wall. More people start to add on to it. Very amusing.

Something else I love today….

i believe it’s tuesday

I believe that being kind to someone can make my day.

I work at a grocery store. The other night I was running the self check out area. This older lady comes through and asks for my help. She messed a few things up and started to get worried. I told her it was no problem and I fixed everything. I even finished her order and showed her how to work the machine. She then started to tell me how she suffers from panic attacks and this was the reason she was shaking. She also told me this was the first time she’d been out of the house for a while, but she even made it to church. She thanked me for helping and being so kind through everything. I told her it was not a problem and if she ever needed anything, just to ask.

While driving home, I realized, that just doing so much as helping someone check out their groceries can change their whole week. These are the moments I should remember when customers are being jerks. Maybe they’re just going through a rough time and need a little kindness.

When I know I’ve helped someone, it makes me feel all warm inside. (maybelameohwell) I enjoy it. I always feel like a better person if I’m helping someone, rather than bringing them down.

So next time you see someone who needs help, or even just a simple hello, go ahead, change their day. Change yours.

Tuesday Find

I was browsing the blogs I love and on The Swede Records I found a link to The Violet. It’s a blog and an online magazine.

“We believe in the simple life”

Their mission statement is beautiful. They focus on real women, not celebrities. It’s refreshing.

I LOVED the <create> section. I am going to make the paper rings with quotes on them when I move back home.

Check it out & let me know which part you liked the best.
