Only Tuesday

S o r r y for the lack of quality posts lately.

It’s finals week, forgive me?

Here’s a new song I found instead of writing. I need to stop finding ways to not study.

Lotus love

Ever heard of Lotus Fest?

Well, I went last night for the first time. Of course after trying to take pictures, I realized my memory card was in my computer…

So until I get some pictures from my friends, I’ll just let you listen to this youtube video. This is Movits, a Swedish band. They had a huge crowd, great energy. It was fantastic. Then my friends and I met them and took pictures! (yeahyeahyeah)

Hope you love it!

John Butler Trio

One of the bests bought all three of us tickets to the JBT show for my birthday. THANK YOU AGAIN. It was the best concert I’ve been to, I think. I had such a great time.

First, Mama Kin came on stage.

I had only listened to a few of her songs a couple of hours before the show, for the first time.

She had that stage presence that made you want to listen to her. Her songs were energetic, soulful, and great to dance to.

This is Brother Michael. He’s Mama Kin’s older brother. He was so fun! Dancing and grooving on stage, and all smiles.

Mama Kin is John Butler’s wife, and Nicky Bomba’s (drummer) sister.

This is John Butler.

Meet Byron on bass and Nicky Bomba on drums. Their love of music was clearly evident. The trio would jam out, throw in lots of solos, and interact with each other a lot. I love to see shows where you can tell the artists truly enjoy what they’re doing.

Here we have Butler & Bomba jammin’ out.

The lights, the people, the bass so loud you can feel it in your chest. The energy, the love, the music. Amazing. It was such a fantastic show, words can’t even describe it. My friend got us up to the second row, SECOND row people. Bomba kept nodding at us & pointing. It felt so cool to be right up there in the action.

They opened with “Revolution” and played a great set. They played my favorite songs: “Losing You,” Mystery Man,” and “Zebra.” John also played “Ocean” by himself, which if you haven’t heard. OH MY golistentoitrightthissecond!

The following picture is John Butler & Mama Kin. They sing a duet of my favorite JBT song, “Losing You.” All proceeds of this song go to help save the Kimberly. Click here to learn more.

I am in love with the picture above. I even set it as my desktop background.

Here’s my sad attempt at a video… notice how JB plays with his nails. So cool.

It’s only part of the song, and my camera was dying. (Sorry).

Again… only part.. and it’s shaky… but you get the picture. (:

Needless to say, it was the highlight of my summer!

Well I’m off to do some last minute shopping before I head back up to school this weekend. I hope you all have a fabulous day, and never pass up the chance to see your favorite band live!

Just a quick update!

I went to the John Butler Trio Concert last night. It was a birthday present from one of the bests. Let’s just say BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!

I’m in the process of going through my photos and videos.

I’ll post more pictures and write to tell you about how amazing they are later.

For now…

Let’s just say.. love.

sorry for the hiatus.

Hello again! It’s been very long, I know. I’m so sorry for the disappearance. My life has been crazy.

I went to Gatlinburg for a weekend. (SO FUN) We climbed waterfalls, went to Dixie Stampede (a blast!), walked around the strip, and hung out by the pool. Then I’ve had some pretty hectic weeks.

Little 5 has come and gone. I went to Glowfest. It was out of control, crazy, and fun. Reminded me a bit of my first Warped.

-this was the beginning of Pretty Lights-

Following that I had an organic test, which thank some higher power, I DID NOT FAIL!

Then this week, I became terrible ill. Do not worry, though, I’m on medicine and my family came to visit today. It was great to see them, I missed them so much. Well now I just have 2 books to read, a two page paper & a 12 page paper to write, then studying for finals! Then I’ll be packing and moving back home for the summer!

I hope everyone has a good Easter! My family brought me Easter baskets today. It was such a joy to see them, miss them already. I also got lots of Dove chocolate & Harry Potter smelly markers! Love it.

Music Monday

New thing: Music Monday. Well this isn’t new by any means.. it’s just new on my blog.

For this Monday we have John Butler Trio. I love their style and the meaning behind their music.

The first piece I heard by them was “Ocean.” My new favorite, though, “Don’t Wanna See Your Face.”

You can find them here and here.

Here’s “Losing You”

Follow Directions

After my organic chem test, I realized I’m not so good at following directions during exams. It made me wonder if I tend to look over the “directions” in other aspects of my life. Just something I’m contemplating. Maybe the answers I’m looking for are right in front of me..

..while thinking about all this, I’ve discovered that classical or classical-type music helps me concentrate.

Here’s something I’ve been listening to on repeat.

It is mysterious, yet intriguing. I find it calming and beautiful.

I hope you are all doing better at following directions and finding clarity in your life than me.

I saw this song on Alivia’s Blog

It’s beautiful, listen to it.

I want to see this movie now, even if this song has little to do with it.
