Wishful thinking

Today I was looking at Christmas lists on blogs. While I do have some items I wouldn’t mind having, there’s one thing I would want more.

Break time with family and friends.

Thanksgiving break was a little teaser. I only got to see one of the bests for a few short hours. I would love to be drinking hot cocoa and watching a christmas movie marathon with those two right now.

Or hanging out with my family, doing something fun or just relaxing at home.

Can’t wait for break!

P.S. Check out one of the bests’ new blog:The Little Things!

Catch up.

Busy bees around Btown this past week.

Sometimes school, a job, friends, and family can be a lot to juggle.

& then you have those nights with your best friends where you talk about anything and everything.

& those days spent with family where the nephew is so funny.

& the programs that were totally worth all the work.

& the drives where you jam to music.

& late night walks around the square with the christmas lights up.

& free sbux.

& meeting new people and reuniting with old friends.

& finding a new favorite band.

Thankful for everything I have.

What are you thankful for this week?

All you need is love.

“What are you living for?” someone asked me in a conversation the other night.

They wanted to know what I’m looking forward to in life, what am I working towards.

I drew a blank.

I don’t really have a life goal or plan. I can’t decide what I want to be, do, see, live. I didn’t know how to respond.

In the back of my mind, though, something poked through. It was trying to catch my attention. . .

I would put my family in front of everything. They would support me in everything I do.

What is most important to me? –family, always. I love the one I have now and can’t wait to have a family of my own in the future.

So the recent visits from my mom, sister, nephew, and best friend brought me back down to earth just when I needed it.

The rest is just sand

My sister posted this on FB, it caught my heart.
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle and 24 hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class with several items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the …students if the jar was full…. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. Once more they agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked one more time if the jar was full, and the students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand, the pebbles, and the golf balls. The students laughed.
“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions—things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else—the small stuff. The professor continued, “If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.” “So,” he cautioned, “pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children; take time to get medical checkups; take your partner out to dinner; play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first—the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked.” He elaborated. “It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

Sometimes, you have those

Those nights where you don’t get much sleep. Those nights where you forgot about homework. Those days where you have to literally hold your eyes open in class. Those days where two cups of coffee in the morning is not enough. Where you burn your mouth with your coffee that you waited in a super long line for. Those days where you miss your friends. When you just want to be home. When you can’t think because you haven’t made a to-do list. Where your room is a hot mess.

These are the days that I send out grumpy texts to my best friends and sisters in hopes that they’ll cheer me up.

They do.

I love them.

Thank you.

Hello loves,

I hope your weekend was full of fun or relaxation.

Leaving cute post-it notes all over someone’s mirror as a surprise. Visiting my aunt’s for Labor Day. Getting to see my family. Little man is getting so big, it’s crazy!

That’s a snippet of my weekend, hope yours was just as fabulous!

& Now that school’s officially starting.. good luck to everyone.

Move in!

Yesterday was moving day for me. We decided to take little man. So that meant 2 cars, 2 sisters, 2 parents, and a three year old. We made it up fine after a few stops, and then it was time to move into my little home. Let me just say, mi familia is a hot mess when moving in. After we got everything in, we ran around and did some shopping. Then, we ate Indian food for an early birthday dinner for me. Little man was hilarious, he even talked and played with the waiter. That never happens, he’s a shy one in public. After that, we got ice cream and walked around. It was a lovely day. It didn’t end there, though! We bought a futon and had an adventure trying to put it together. The family finally left around ten. They were all very tired, and so was I. Now I have to finish unpacking… but I think I’ll make some coffee first!

There was construction, so of course we stopped to look at the bulldozer!

I’m so thankful for my family, love them, and I will miss them.

Sweet 16

Happy Birthday to my beautiful little sister. She turns sixteen today, which is very exciting. It’s crazy to see how grown up she is now. I remember when she was the little six year old trying to hang with the big kids. Whenever we played house, we made her be the baby. I’m so lucky to be able to call her my sister and best friend. We’ve been through a lot, but she’s always been there for me when I needed her. She was there when I felt like I had no one else, and I thank her for that.

I love you Lo.

It’s finally here

via John Likes Movies

How sad and excited I am for the new movie. I’m kind of really bummed that the journey’s over….

When looking for your phone, you lift up a blanket, only to have your phone fly across the room.

Working for literally two hours to make a Grooveshark widget.

Phone calls where you don’t know what to say.

Having your 3 year old nephew scream in the grocery store, 8 times.

HP, tonight at midnight!

Having the house to myself. This means dancing like an idiot in the kitchen without caring. (:

Chipotle, yum.

Days out with your sister & her friend.

It’s Kind of a Funny Story
